Rational selection is fundamental. Choose the material (such as plastic, metal, or wood) and size based on the characteristics of the cargo, ensuring the box's load-bearing capacity matches the required loading. For example, fragile items require a plastic box with good cushioning, while heavy equipment requires a reinforced metal box. Standardized dimensions also facilitate stacking, storage, and transport space optimization.
Standardized loading ensures safety. When loading, follow the "light on top, heavy on bottom" principle: place heavy items on the bottom and lightweight items on top to avoid a shift in the center of gravity that could cause tipping. The load per box must not exceed the box's rated maximum load, and the weight must be evenly distributed. Fragile goods should be protected with foam pads, dividers, and other protective measures to prevent damage during transport.
Cleanliness and maintenance are essential. Clean any residue promptly after each use. Plastic crates can be wiped with a neutral detergent, while metal crates require rust prevention. During long-term storage, keep crates dry and well-ventilated, avoiding direct sunlight that may cause aging and deformation. Regularly inspect the structural integrity of the crates. Stacking and handling should be performed with caution. The stacking height should not exceed the design limit of the crates, and the bottom crate should be placed firmly on a hard surface. When handling crates manually, it is recommended to hold the crates with both hands by the grooves on both sides. Avoid tilting or throwing them unilaterally. When using a forklift or other mechanical tool, ensure that the forks are fully inserted into the pallet slots and raise and lower slowly to avoid impact.
